Cowshed

Sand Architects successfully achieved Planning Approval to transform this existing cowshed in Devon into a new 3-bedroom family home. Part of the planning restriction required the agricultural character of the existing building to be preserved, most noticeably the external black corrugated metal cladding. This helped to minimise the visual impact on the surrounding countryside whilst creating an individual building full of character. The build incorporated sustainable building methods, including an insulated concrete wall system (ICF) and biomass boiler.
